HELP US END ILLEGAL, UNREPORTED AND UNREGULATED FISHING PRACTICES
Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) has a devastating impact on marine ecosystems and habitats. It depletes fish stocks, weakens coastal communities and puts honest fishers at an unfair disadvantage. Organisations like the International Commission Conservation Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) and the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean are working to regulate fishing in the EU. But in order to take actions against destructive activities, they are in need of solid data.
The Mediterranean Ghost FAD fleet is in the perfect position to collect data out at sea. Follow the steps below to help us
end illegal fishing.
Download the following ICCAT vessel sighting information sheet to keep on your ship.
